Where can I get student loans without a cosigner if I have no credit?

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011
mistymountain_999 asked:

I can’t get approved for loans on my own because I have no credit, but I can’t get approved with my parents as a cosigner because they have atrocious credit.
I’ve already had four federal loans, but I still need $3500.

Any Ideas?
I have no one else to use as a cosigner.
I have a job, but it is not enough to cover the expenses.

I have no credit, nobody to co-sign, I’m 25 this month with only 14 community college credits. Does anybody on here have a similar situation as mine and has been approved for private student loans? If so, for how long will the loan sustain your education and what kind of interest rate is the loan?

What are the best ways to pay off the college loans?

Simpsfan asked:

Is it smart idea to pay some money per month while you’re in college? So that you can pay less in the future for the loans with lower APR.
That is fine with me. I have heard of stories about students who are stuck on paying back the loans for the next ten to fifteen years. I do not want to be in their shoes.

How many promissory notes are there when getting student loans from the same institution?

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011
Steve C asked:

I’m a student right now, and i have gotten a total of 2 student loans from citibank.
One was 10k for my freshman year and the other was 5k for my sophomore year.

I’m right now in the military and trying to get the student loan repayment program, and they’re asking me for promissory notes for both loans, but from what I remember, I didn’t get a promissory note on my second 5k loan, because I got from the same account and same institution…

Would this second promissory note, does it exist? would it be needed?

I applied for student loans like last week and it said I’m suppose to receive something in 24 hrs, but I didn’t get anything back yet and I’m afraid that if it doesn’t go through by the time I start school tomorrow, I won’t be able to go to college. Does the student loans pay for the classes and books too or you still have to pay? If yes, how does the payment plan actually work? I know it’s like a monthly pay, but how do you do it?
