What is the best way to get rid of student loans?
Showers asked:
I have three student loans totaling about 17k. By the time I am done paying them I will have paid triple that with interest. I pay 20-50 extra on each loan each month. However it barely makes a dent.

How can I get rid of my loans much sooner with out breaking bank or messing up my credit?

No easy answer. Just be sure not to accrue other debts in an effort to pay off your student loan. As student loan interest whilst still significant is far less than other loan/debt rate.

If you have already graduated and the bills are coming in the mail. You could have all three put into one bill. thus creating one finance/interest charge. I am trying to think of the actual name. but it starts with a C, My daughter just started her senior year in college and has already decided on this. Most banks will know what you mean. Best of luck with your chosen career.

The best way to eliminate student loan debt without actually paying is through federal loan forgiveness programs. There are a wide variety of programs available, so you are sure to find one that fits your needs. Some of these programs include:
-volunteer work
-teaching in underprivileged communities
-military service
-and many others
What’s great about these programs is that you can eliminate some - or even all - of your student loan debt without paying a penny on them.
